I have always had an interest in architecture and art history which is why I decided to pursue a second career in interior design.  While taking classes at NVCC, I found that I enjoyed the variety and complexity of commercial design, especially the challenge of space planning.  After taking my first commerical design course, I decided to continue my design education at Marymount University.

My previous career was in the multifamily mortage industry. Although design does not appear to have much in common with mortgage lending, I found many skills gained as an analyst are applicable in the design field.  A significant portion of my job was performing property inspections which provided knowledge of construction terms and methods.  When completing inspections, I placed importance on potential health and safety issues.

Through my design education and work experience, I have had the opportunity to learn Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
